Remodelers see trade show as key to growth and innovation - remodelers trade show
The NAHB International Builders’ Show draws remodelers seeking industry trends and networking opportunities.

The NAHB International Builders’ Show (IBS) holds a central role for remodelers deciding whether to allocate time and resources away from daily operations. Every year, industry professionals weigh whether the event’s advantages outweigh the costs of travel and missed work. For many, though, the choice is straightforward: participation is essential to staying ahead in a sector that has expanded significantly in recent years.

From 2000 to 2025, the number of remodeling firms in the U.S. nearly doubled, climbing from 69,000 to 128,000, according to NAHB data. This growth highlights the urgency for businesses to adjust quickly or face falling behind. A remodeler who has attended IBS for decades attributes the show’s educational sessions to helping their company stay ahead. The event’s blend of practical training and industry analysis has consistently provided them with useful tactics for their operations.

This year’s event included sessions like “Practical Strategies to Maximize Remodeling Margins”, where experts discussed pricing methods, markup approaches, and efficiency improvements. The 2027 schedule, due out soon, will likely feature a similarly strong lineup. For many attendees, the exhibit hall, hosting over 1,700 manufacturers and suppliers, is equally vital. One participant praised The New American Remodel, a live demonstration space showcasing innovative designs and materials, as a standout feature.

Elliott Pike, owner of ELM Construction in Alabama, reinforced this perspective by bringing his entire team to the show in February. He described the expense not as a drain but as an investment in both staff development and company growth. Pike’s approach mirrors a wider trend: remodelers who treat IBS as a long-term commitment rather than a short-term cost tend to see quicker results.

Stepping away from the office is challenging, even for a few days. At the same time, there is no other trade show that provides such valuable access to education, innovation, and networking to help your business thrive. Registration for IBS 2027, set for February 2–4 in Las Vegas, opens on September 1 at buildersshow.com.
