Chanel Iman and Davon Godchaux’s new home in Texas isn’t just a place to live—it’s a reflection of their lives, shaped by a mix of personal taste and the land itself. The couple, who met during their careers in modeling and sports, found their dream ranch about 90 minutes west of Dallas. Godchaux, a New Orleans Saints defensive tackle, remembers the first time he saw it. “My realtor was like, ‘You’re not going to like this, it’s too far away from everything,’” he says. But he trusted his instincts. “We got there at about 10 o’clock and flicked on all the lights,” he recalls. “I called my wife and said, ‘This is it.’”

A Gut Feeling Leads to a New Chapter
Iman, a supermodel, wasn’t immediately convinced. “There’s no way we’re putting in an offer on a home we haven’t even seen in the daytime,” she said at first. But when she arrived later, she felt the same pull. The property, though newly built, didn’t need major renovations. Still, the couple wanted it to feel uniquely theirs. They turned to 2id Interiors, a firm known for blending luxury with lifestyle. Rafaela Simoes, a principal at the firm, worked with them on their Florida retreat before. “We already understood their lifestyle and aesthetic,” she says. “It’s about making a home feel personal, not overly designed.”
The result is a space that balances rustic charm with refined touches. “Davon is really into decorating, and he loves art and fashion. It’s kind of our love language,” Iman says.

Designing a Personal Sanctuary
The ranch’s aesthetic is subtler than their Florida home, defined by earthy tones and textures. “We wanted this home to feel collected rather than overly designed,” Iman says. “It’s everything we ever wanted in Texas—it’s a cowboy’s dream home.”

Texas, with its open spaces and natural beauty, has become a cornerstone of their lives. “Texas gave us the freedom to dream bigger,” Iman says. “We love the land, the openness, being surrounded by nature. That’s really what brought us here, and it’s a dream come true.” The ranch isn’t just a house—it’s a place where their passions, careers, and family life converge, shaped by the land and their shared vision.
